Washi tape & stickers

Instant color, zero drawing skills required. The easiest way to make a planner page look pulled-together.

What's washi tape?

Washi tape is a thin, low-tack decorative masking tape, traditionally paper-based, that you can tear by hand and usually peel off and reposition. It comes in solids, patterns, foils and clear PET versions, in widths from skinny 3 mm strips to wide deco rolls.

Ways to use it

  • Headers and borders in planners and journals
  • Page tabs so you can flip to a section fast
  • Hanging art and photos on dorm walls (test first!)
  • Color-coding cords, jars and bins
  • Sealing envelopes and dressing up gift wrap

Because it's low-tack, it's not for shipping boxes or anything that has to stay closed.

Stickers: functional vs fun

Planner stickers do a job: checkboxes, appointment icons, bill-due flags and header banners sized to fit common planner boxes. Sticker books are all about decoration, with illustrations, lettering and themed sets. Matte stickers are easier to write on than glossy ones.
